For many churches today, the idea of having the whole family together in worship is obscene. "How are children to get anything out of worship with their parents?" some might say. We live in a world where most families, including Christian families, are separated most of the day throughout the week. Kids go to school, while mom and dad are at work. Then there are the extra-curricular activities. Yes, sure mom and dad might driving to practices and games and recitals, but we are not together. Parents are merely being spectators in their children's lives. Any investment in reality is minutes per day, rather than hours in teaching them God's Word and how to apply it to their lives. Then when we come to the church and what do we do? We divide off once again, going on our own ways to experience church life in our own corner. This sermon series will look at what Scripture says about the Church in relation to the family.
