Individuals wishing to join United Methodist Church are asked: “Will you be faithful to our Lord through the United Methodist Church and support it with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?â€� Todayâ€"s sermon examines the vow of witness, especially as it pertains to offering our entire self as our gift to God. More specifically, our vow of witness includes a responsibility to offer a word for God to others not only for their salvation, but in comfort for their grief, for their healing in their sickness, for hope in the face of death, and for the rekindling of love in hurting relationships. In a world that is increasingly ignorant of Jesus and rebellious towards God, we must not miss our divine appointments to dispense the medicine of life.
