Jesus Christ is our Advocate - He is the One "called alongside" who comes to our aid as our heavenly Defense Attorney. Ironically, He does not plead our innocence, but rather His own! In defending us before Satan, the Accuser, our Lord Jesus offers Himself as the basis of our acquittal. His nail scarred hands and spear riven side are the evidences our debt of sin has been fully paid. In Christ, we are liberated from sin's power and cleansed from our guilt that we may joyfully live in our Lord's presence...forever.
