Mothers should be encouraged, supported, and comforted by Paul’s words to the Thessalonians. Mothers in the 21st century have a unique set of circumstances in which they are called to nurture, teach, lead and love their children, in situations where large numbers of mothers are head-of-households and have disengaged fathers. They also have extreme pressures from the larger society to seek their happiness outside of Biblical teaching and Christian foundations. How does and can the church support and show love to mothers and their children in this present age?
