If you read through Paul's letters (which make up close to half of the new testament), one of the remarkable things you will notice is his love for Christ overflowing into a love for the church. In fact, I think a very strong biblical argument can be made that when you are in love with the Savior, you can't help but to grow in love with the church for whom the Savior died for.
