On Fathers' Day we will talk about the Father's House. Not many stories are found in all four Gospels, but the account of Jesus' clearing out the Temple is one of those chosen few. I wonder why. Jesus seems to lose His temper as He enters the Temple courts and He breaks into a rampage. The sound of a whip cracking, tables overturning, animals panicking and coins hitting the floor broke up a major religious event. I wonder why. The era of Temple worship was coming to an end-why create so much strife to cleanse a Temple He was about to vacate? Everything about this story cries for attention, so this Sunday we will take close look into one of the most radical and offensive things Jesus did during His earthly life.
