The first commandment says we should fear, love and trust in God above all things. As sinful human beings we often take credit when things go our way, and blame God when things don’t go our way. God sometimes uses the challenges of life to lead us to a deeper trust in Him! That was true when the Israelites went to battle against the Amalekites. God made it very clear – He is in charge! Life always works better when we know, believe and trust that God is in charge of all things.
