The days leading up to Jesus' crucifixion are filled with drama and intrigue, and they contain great insights for our lives as Jesus prepares to die so that we can have life. He was willing to do whatever it took to win our freedom from sin. Martin Lutheran made his stand for the truth of Jesus' story and our freedom some 1500 years later. The Reformation is the result. Without Christ, we are condemned by our own sin. Without the truth of God's Word that Martin Luther and others stood for, we would not properly understand what Christ actually accomplished for us on the cross. Without the example of Peter, Jesus' disciple, we would not fully appreciate how God deals with flawed people like us. Praise God for the example to us.
