While unbelievers looks to the circumstances around them for “peace and safety”, Christians are called upon to find their peace in Christ and those who belong to Christ. Our text, 1 Thess. 5:12-15 gives four encouraging exhortations to “live in peace with each other.” 1. Peacemakers respect authority (1 Thess. 5:12-13). 2. Peacemakers hold one another accountable (1 Thess. 5:14a). 3. Peacemakers are patient with each other (1 Thess. 5:14b). 4. Peacemakers practice kindness to all (1 Thess. 5:15).
