Our text, 2 Thess. 1:11-12, is a beautiful prayer aptly concluding Pauls encouragement to this church undergoing trial. But the purpose of this prayer stands out in the third point below. Lets consider what Paul means when he prays “that the name of the Lord Jesus be glorified in you” as we consider these four specific requests in Pauls prayer: 1. That you be worthy of your calling in Christ (verse 11a) 2. That your life be fulfilled in Christ (verse 11b) 3. That Christ be glorified in you (verse 12a) 4. That you be glorified in Christ (verse 12b)
