Two weeks ago I read a report that Governor Mike Huckabee had preached a sermon in South Carolina while on the campaign trail. I called the church in Spartanburg http://www.firstnorth.org and asked for permission to share this message with our listeners on the Sermon Network. They quickly responded and sent over the video. This video can be viewed at http://sermon.net/huckabee.php

While this is certainly not a political endorsement I thought our listeners and partners might find the message interesting. It is great to see that some of our presidential candidates have good Christian values and those values have been inserted into this years campaign.

We as Christians have a responsibility to pray that God’s choice be elected president and then after the election to pray for that leader to have courage and wisdom. It is very easy to criticize the one in charge but our true calling is to lift them up in prayer. To pray that God will impart His wisdom to them, that they will appoint the right staff and have godly advisers around them.

I know how frustrating the entire political process can be but we do have some responsibilities as outlined by God’s Word. I am glad that in 2008 God has reentered the debate. That Christians are coming out in these early primaries to choose their candidate and that the country can see that it does matter what God’s people think.

Thank you to the First Baptist North Spartanburg South Carolina for this video. I hope you enjoy former Pastor Mike Huckabee’s sermon “The Sin of Being Good.”

Blessings,
Larry
