As Christians, we must devote our whole mental activity not simply an occasional thought to higher things. Philippians 4:8 (MSG) reads, *You would do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious – the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly, things to praise, not things to curse.* Albert Barnes sums it up in his Bible commentary, *Live under the correct impression.* This offers us a choice: to live under the correct impression or not to live under the correct impression. It implies there is a possible means of escaping from incorrect impressions. Impressions are the act of someone imprinting upon someone or something else.
