As Ruth goes to work, gleaning during the barley harvest, she encounters Boaz, an agent of God's lovingkindness toward both Ruth and Naomi. Through Ruth and Boaz' actions, it becomes evident that God's covenant love should motivate us to an active faith, characterized by planning, diligence, hope and others-focused actions.
