In Matthew 6, right in the middle of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus calls His disciples to give, pray, and fast differently than the hypocrites who give, pray and fast for the approval, applause, recognition, and reward of man. Instead, we are to invest in these spiritual disciplines to be seen only by the Father and, therefore, receive the Father's reward...a reward infinitely more valuable than anything man could bestow.
